Kelly Montijo Fink, M.A., is a bilingual educator (English/Spanish) & international speaker. Kelly has a Masters of Arts in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Iowa and received a B.A. from Cornell College, double majoring in Anthropology & Spanish. She received a certificate with honor for completing a year-long study of "Language, Latin America, & European Studies" from the Fundacion Ortega y Gasset in Toledo, Spain. Kelly has worked as a language professor for over 20 years and has served as a freelance translator and interpreter in the private and public sectors. Since 2012 she has served on the Iowa Commission on the Status of Native American Affairs. She has performed musically and in theater for the past 25 years. Recently, she has been featured in some local commercial spots, as well. Furthermore, she has received multiple nominations for her original music both in the U.S. & abroad and she is a two-time Native American Music Award (NAMMY) winner. As a singer-songwriter, she pens everything from Native drum songs, contemporary folk, rap/hip hop, dance tracks, rock, pop, to Celtic inspired tunes. She uses her music and her public platforms to empower those who hear to be resilient and courageous. Kelly and her husband Brian have two children and live in Hiawatha, Iowa.
